Following recent developments in the field of myopia

research for children, EyeDream OVC lenses develop

this advancement a step further.

'Extensive research worldwide has shown orthokeratology has the greatest effect on the slowing of myopia progression. It is thought that the effect on myopia control may be greatest with orthokeratology because the reshaping of the front of the eye is combined with the refocusing of the light that reaches the peripheral retina. The effect is not guaranteed, as results vary for individual children, but it has never been shown to make children more short-sighted.'

Myopia (short-sightedness) is likely to be inherited and can often create frustration during later life due to the dependence of contact lenses or glasses. Myopia control with OVC lenses therefore offers a chance to slow the progression of myopic prescriptions whilst enabling children to fully engage in day-to-day activities without the worry of eyewear.

Children are entitled to NHS vouchers at specified intervals. These can be used in discount against OVC treatment.
